Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
BetterVPN (the brand and service at bettervpn.com) is owned and operated by BetterLink, LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States ("BetterLink, LLC," "we," "us," or "our"). We are built around a simple idea: you should be able to use the internet privately and securely. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, what we do not collect, how we use data, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, apps, and related services (together, the "Services").
Please read this policy together with our Terms of Service. By using the Services, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.
1. Our approach
We collect only what we need to run BetterVPN at scale: account and billing basics, device and subscription management data, limited operational signals needed to deliver and protect the service, and minimal support records. We do not build profiles of your browsing. Our public materials describe a strict no-log approach to VPN traffic; this policy spells out what that means in practice.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your data for cross-app advertising or tracking.
2. What we do not collect (VPN activity)
In line with our no-log commitment for the VPN itself, we do not collect or store:
- Your browsing history, traffic destinations, or content of communications while connected to the VPN
- DNS queries tied to your identity or session in a way that could reconstruct your activity
- VPN session data linked to specific online actions you take while connected
If we do not have data, we cannot disclose it - including in response to legal requests.
3. Information we may collect
3.1 Account and authentication
When you create an account or sign in, we may process your email address, a secure account identifier, and authentication tokens from the method you choose (for example email one-time passcode, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google). This is used to sign you in, reset access, send service-related messages, enforce device limits, and protect against abuse.
3.2 Devices and apps
To manage your subscription and registered devices, we may process a device identifier assigned by the app, a device label (such as the name shown in your device settings), device model, platform, and app version. This helps us enforce plan device limits, deliver configuration, and keep the service secure.
3.3 Billing and subscriptions
Paid plans are processed by payment providers (for example the Apple App Store, Google Play, card processors, or PayPal). We receive limited billing data needed to activate and manage your subscription - such as transaction status, plan type, product identifiers, and renewal state - not your full payment card or bank account number when checkout is handled by the store or processor.
3.4 Service operation and abuse prevention
To operate the VPN service we may process product-interaction data such as server or location selection, connection and disconnection events, subscription checks, and configuration delivery. While you are connected, the app may send lightweight heartbeats that can include your app version, device identifier, and network addresses (such as your public IP and the VPN server endpoints in use) so we can correlate legitimate sessions, enforce quotas, and detect abuse. This operational data is not used to monitor what you browse or communicate through the tunnel.
3.5 Support and communications
If you contact us (for example at bettervpn.com">contact@bettervpn.com), we keep the correspondence needed to resolve your request.
3.6 Website and cookies
Our site may use cookies or similar technologies for essential operation, preferences, and aggregated analytics. You can control many cookies through your browser. Marketing cookies, if any, will respect applicable consent rules in your region.
3.7 On-device diagnostics
The apps may keep technical logs on your device for troubleshooting (for example when developer mode is enabled). These on-device diagnostics are not uploaded to our servers unless you separately choose to share them with us (for example by emailing support).
4. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve the Services
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send important notices about your account or the Services
- Respond to support requests and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations where required
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Sharing
We may share data with:
- Service providers who assist us (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and infrastructure), under contracts that limit use to providing services to us
- Sign-in providers you choose (such as Apple or Google) only as needed to complete authentication you initiate
- Authorities when required by applicable law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Services
6. Security and retention
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information we hold. Retention periods depend on the purpose (for example, billing records may be kept longer than short-lived operational signals used only to keep the service reliable). We do not maintain VPN activity logs as described in section 2.
7. Your rights and account deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your request.
You can delete your BetterVPN account at any time from the app: open Settings, go to Account, and choose Delete Account (you may be asked to confirm with a verification code). You can also request deletion by emailing bettervpn.com">contact@bettervpn.com.
8. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under the age required in their jurisdiction to consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice where appropriate.
